Mother Nature wins Rock Out Hunger

Due to the bad weather outside, we had to end the Rock Out Hunger food/toy drive an hour earlier than intended. We did not get enough participants to compute scores, but did get 142 food items and 7 toys.

Food and toys will still be accepted at the Washington County BCMW office until 4pm on December 10. This agency is approximately 70% of their season goal of 10,000 non-perishable food items, but just 10% of the goal of 100 toys.

If you own a Rage wireless guitar controller (Wii version), the CPSC has put that controller on the recall list as of 10-22-08. These controllers were made between June through September 2008, and they are recalled due to an hazard with a circuit board system that could cause burns. If you own it, please go to PDP.com.

Both events well attended, results coming soon

The July 27 edition of the Centralia Sentinel had a article about yesterday's Guitar Hero event in Mt. Vernon, IL. An estimated 100 people took part in the event. However, the newspaper provided no results of the event, and I have not yet received any results either. I expect something to be posted on the Mt. Vernon Register-News website sometime on Monday.

The MGA has also reported that their event was a success but have yet to post their results.

If you know the results of either event, please post it on the comments page as I won't have extended Internet time until Wednesday due to work, or send me a message via Myspace.

good luck this weekend

I would like to wish everyone best of luck at the events this weekend. I won't be at either event due to an prior commitment with family (I will be out of town from Thursday-Sunday). Tornadoalley1971 has the temporary lead of the Southern Illinois Rockers touring group on Guitar Hero Community site while I am gone. Please log into that community site and send him a private message.

The Mt. Vernon event in October will happen during Southern Illinois Harvest Fest but I do not have a date or time for that event - which is sponsored by the Mt. Vernon Jaycees.

Results from Saturday's events will be posted sometime Sunday or Monday evening after I return from my trip.

MGA Podcast on July 26

The MGA will be having a podcast during their event and is looking for people to interview, even if you don't intend on playing at their event.

I will be out of town from July 25-28, due to a family vacation that was planned well before these events were announced. I have no choice but to take it because I already put in my vacation time at work and there are at 7 other family members going with me. I regret in advance about being unable to attend either event and I wish all players luck next Saturday.
